Extended Access

Since September 2015, patients registered at the MyHealthcare practices have been able to access extended hours appointments with their GP and Nurses. These appointments are available 7 days a week. They take place at the patient’s nearest and most convenient local MyHealthcare hub. Patients book their appointments as normal.

Why are we doing this? 
The service provides patients with more convenient access to GP and Nurse appointments. This is particularly useful for patients who work, or who are struggling to get a suitable appointment at their own surgery.

When will the service be held?
Appointments are available Monday to Friday 8am-8pm and on weekends 8am-3pm. These take place at our local hubs  West Heath Surgery, River Brook Surgery, Harborne, Burbury Road and Fernley Medical Practice. The patient will be able to choose which location is most convenient for them to attend.

Who’s it for?
Any patient who is registered at one of a MyHealthcare Practice in Birmingham is able to access extended appointments. With consent GPs and Nurses at the hubs are able to access patient medical records, meaning that the care is tailored to the patient’s individual needs.
